So I have been looking at a piece of property that was for sale up in Vermont (right near the Canadian border) and en route to teach Tiny House Summer Camp Year 9 (which was so much fun!) I made a pit stop at this abandoned cabin in the woods (and I mean deep in the woods) to decide whether or not I wanted to purchase it. On one hand it does have what most likely was a hunting cabin (most likely built in the 60s or 70s), but its in terrible condition (as you’ll see). On the other hand, a good portion of its materials could be reused and salvaged if I was to make a brand new cabin or two for possible glamping rentals on hip camp or airbnb. The property also has a pond and a stream- something I’ve been on the lookout for. Throughout I check out quite a few aspects of the land and mention a few things you might want to lookout for when purchasing real estate on your own.
