After Amazon’s viral DIY backyard shed took the world by storm, the internet was wondering just exactly what someone would do with such a tiny space. Turn it into a she shed? A guest house? A game room? One Seattle-based design firm had another idea: a backyard reading retreat.

Board and Vellum, the design firm behind the masterpiece, aimed to create the ultimate getaway for book lovers just steps away from their house—but the homeowners first had to rid their yard of overgrown weeds and plants.

“[Their yard] backed up into a park, so it was super lush,” the designers explained in a video. “But it was completely overgrown.”
