A lot of people often ask how I make ends meet aside from all the tiny house stuff (books, builds, cabin designs, cabin plans, and all that). Well, this is one fun way (out of about 30 others- I have A.D.D. big time). In this video I talk about one of my side passions (salvage and thrift shop flipping) ….and much in the way of the show “Flea Market Flip”, I purchase low cost prints, art paintings, and “wine night” canvases, and repaint them with my own original work. I often find these paintings on the side of the road for free too- VERY frequently to be honest. Most of it (the art) is done in a pretty wild pop art or graffiti outsider style, but I occasionally do some more realistic pieces. Mainly, I’m trying to impart the idea that you don’t necessarily need to buy expensive supplies and canvases to create and sell art- I’ve sold hundreds of pieces this way over the last decade. Also, for the tiny house folks in the audience, if you approached this idea with small canvases, it could certainly be a creative way to make money from the road without worrying about having to store much before these pieces went to market or sold. I call it “thinking outside the box money making”. You’ll see what I create in a time lapse in one part of this video. Thanks for watching!
