General Store Transformation

General Store Transformation – From 1928 General Store to Fabulous Home!
Historic Bayou Front Conversion
This building once served the area as a General Store for the sugar cane plantations and the locals for over fifty years.

The OJ Mire General Store was built in 1928, with ‘old growth’ cypress and has exterior walls as thick as 10 inches! It is wrapped in ‘pecky’ cypress, considered ‘trash’ lumber then, but today is extremely desirable. Even the floors are true 2”x 6” shiplap cypress boards!

With 8800 total square feet and 5240 square feet of living area, this is a gorgeous home with a spacious rear deck overlooking the beautiful, historic Bayou Lafourche.
